Why Ghetto, What got you into it?

I got into Ghetto because of how little i had to work with. All i had was
an MPC 3000 and turntables. I couldnt afford a keyboard so i would borrow
godfathers keyboards and starski’s. I would mess around for a month
straight and make up sounds with analogue keys and then would sample them
to make some tracks. I would either sample vocals from records or record
some vocals from rappers.

Where do you see the scene going?

Unfortuently the scene has died down with the lack and support of vinyl
and record stores. Ghetto was a niche sound and it didnt sustaine the
longetivity that we wanted it too. It still lives with people discovering
it for the first time and supporting the movement. Ghetto did evolve into
stuff you hear today on the radio even with mainstream stuff. Hopefully in
the future it will be rediscovered and make a comeback.

First Record you bought and Last?

The first record i ever bought was Crazy Leggs “Get Em Down”. Last record
i bought was another copy of Crazy Leggs “Get Em Down” !!

How important is Vinyl to you?

Vinyl is very important to me, the most exciting part of making music was
releasing vinyl and having it in my hand. A part of my music died when
vinyl and the ghetto scene faded.

Define your sound.

My sound is very eclactic. I mix hip hop, funk, rnb, soul, jazz, rock,
metal, house, electo and drum n bass. I like different genres so thats the
type of music i make.

How did it all begin… your first gig / DJ experience…

The reason i started buying records was because the only way you can get
some of the music was through vinyl. I didnt get into it to dj but as a way
of listening to music that you couldnt buy on cd. My first gig i can
remmber how nervous i was. My hands were shivering but i got though it
train wreck and all.

What’s coming up in the future dates/shows, what are you working on right now?

I really dont have any future shows planned as of now, its hard for me to
travel since i have a regular 40 hours a week job. Its hard for me to just
get up and go to a gig. Life is very time consuming with a wife and a
newborn. But if the right opportunity came about then i would travel.
